TLSS TIPS | EP.5: All About Outsoles (FG) (English Version)
The Science Behind a Better Football Boot
Attention to detail in real-world performance is the core of everything we design and develop. One of the most tangible examples of this philosophy can be seen in how we approach outsole construction.
From fine-tuning the density across different areas of the foot to match biomechanics, to selecting stud shapes that support multidirectional movement, every small detail is carefully considered. These seemingly minor elements ultimately deliver a significant impact on player performance.
But thoughtful design doesn’t stop at simplicity. Even when starting from a clean, minimal concept, we believe in integrating functional innovation and technology that enhances performance in ways players can truly feel.
When it comes to football boots, we focus on three key performance pillars:
Ball Responsiveness, Primarily driven by upper material design
Movement, Defined by outsole construction
Safety, Integrated throughout the entire boot
With these principles in mind, we challenged ourselves,
how can we further elevate movement and safety through outsole design?
KaRVO: Power in Motion
To enhance movement, we introduced KaRVO, a Self Reinforced Plastic (SRP) material engineered for performance. Lightweight yet incredibly strong, KaRVO offers excellent impact resistance, flexibility, and high energy return.
Developed using advanced Japanese stretching and weaving technology, this material blends carbon fiber with resin to create a responsive structure. In our FG boots, a KaRVO plate is embedded internally along the midfoot extending to the forefoot.
The result? Increased propulsion during toe-off. This design actively supports forward momentum, helping players accelerate faster and move more explosively, adding a new level of excitement to every run.
T-Flash Foam: Comfort Meets Stability
While movement is critical, safety and support are equally essential.
Heel injury is a common issue among players, whether from long sessions, hard pitch playing surfaces, or overly stiff outsoles. This discomfort can limit performance and reduce playing time, even when it has nothing to do with a player’s fitness or technique.
That’s why we developed T-Flash Foam, built on advanced PEBAX foam technology. This material delivers a balance of shock absorption, pressure distribution, and responsive cushioning all at once.
Positioned in the heel area of the outsole, T-Flash Foam works in harmony with a carefully calibrated PEBAX base. The goal is precise, create a heel that is stable, but not overly rigid cushioned, but not unstable.
The outcome is a heel system that:
Absorbs impact effectively
Distributes weight evenly
Maintains stability
Provides lasting comfort
One Outsole, Total Performance
This design philosophy explains why all TLSS FG models from the leather-focused Tactician to the speed-driven Striker, share the same outsole design.
Once we achieved the optimal balance and supporting all types of movement, enhancing speed and agility, and protecting players from unnecessary injury, there was no need to overcomplicate things.
Rather than creating multiple outsoles that excel in one area but compromise others, we chose to perfect a single system that delivers complete performance.
Because in football, consistency, comfort, and confidence underfoot make all the difference.
